Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans and goals to ensure that the customer’s experience is met or exceeded in all aspects of quality and delivery.

 

Essential Functions:
• Manage team leads and employees to assure on-time shipment. Manage the floor with accountability driven culture of quality, throughput, training, and continuous improvement methods.
• Communicate with Management and other colleagues to avoid bottlenecks and maintain timely flow of product.
• Identify process gaps that may delay manufacturing or hinder delivery. Coordinate production schedules with customer needs.
• Must be high energy and able to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment; resourcefulness and advanced problem-solving abilities are desired.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with many departments and management levels, even under stress and pressure.
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic team and fast-paced environment with continuous challenges.
• Responsible for quality, inventory, 5S/Workplace organization, employee morale, safety, and efficiencies.
• Coach performance through communication, performance evaluations, and training. Responsible for documenting results.
• Responsible for building a culture of teamwork and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Demonstrates regular and consistent daily attendance at the Cookeville Campus.
• Maintains confidentiality of company and employee information.
• Performs other job functions as assigned by manager or designee.
• First (1st) and second (2nd) shift opportunities available.

 

Skills and Qualifications:
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality, with the ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations.
• Able to function as part of a multi-cultural team.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Understanding of quality disciplines, such as PDCA and ISO9000.
• Demonstrated communication and facilitation skills.
• Fluency in PC tools: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Outlook, and Minitab.
• Able to travel overnight both domestically and internationally.

 

Physical Requirements:
• Regularly must be able to sit, talk, see and hear and occasionally walk and stand.
• Sedentary work; frequently may lift up to 10 pounds.
• Must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, grasp, and frequently use fingers for keying.

 

Education and Experience:
• College degree required (technical preferred) or equivalent work experience.
• Five years relevant work experience in a job shop environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing a plus.
• Willing to be hands-on in detail to solve problems and lead by example.
